2nd trimester

Two of hearts, two hearts that beat as one...

2:34 PM

So, I am here to officially announce that I am PREGGERS.. I know, crazy right? I got to hear the baby's heartbeat yesterday (and no, i am not having twins!), it was pretty awesome to say the least. My estimated due date is 9-10-11, which happens to be my brother's birth date and yes, 2 days before Jax's own birth date. Now that's just an estimate, but how cool would that be and after all, Jax came right on his due date. And yes, we are planning on having another home birth with the same wonderful midwives we had for Jax.

So officially, I am almost 13 weeks pregnant (this saturday) and am now in my second trimester (well this varies. some say the start of the 14th week is the second trimester)!! Woo hoo. This time around, I did get morning (noon and night) sickness and was more tired than ever. This baby is already getting gypped. Not much fan fare and even Charlie said - I forget you are pregnant (which will come to an end as soon as I start showing). Which kinda irks me sometimes - because my body is working overtime and even more so because not only am I working full-time at the office, but at home too with Jax. And although I may not show it or complain much - I'm hurting here..not really hurting but man am i tired and sometimes all i want to do is absolutely nothing. I'm also feeling a bit sick lately and still get terrible headaches (one of the joys of pregnancy).

Anyway - As for the Baby - There are a lot of things going on this week! All twenty teeth have formed and are waiting (Teething is yet to come!). Baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce (28.3 grams). Consider that the placenta weighs about an ounce now as well.

Baby's intestines are migrating from the umbilical cord into his or her abdomen. The villi are also forming in the intestines, these help in peristaltic movements and digestion. The pancreas of the little one is even secreting insulin! Meconium, the baby's first stool, is developing. Fingerprints have formed baby's tiny fingertips, veins and organs are clearly visible through the still-thin skin, and baby's body is starting to catch up with his/her head — which makes up just a third of his/her body size now.

We are trying to decide whether or not we want to know the sex of the baby this time around...hmmmmmm. What do you think?

induce labor

A pizza that helps induce labor?

1:11 PM

as i sit here on my lunch break (all glorious 30 minutes of it) eating a left over zachary' pizza slice, i started to read the poop and lo and behold there's a prego pizza??

the legend goes -

In the spring of 1981, a woman desperate to give birth after a trying pregnancy, wandered into Skipolini's Pizza in downtown Clayton. Jokingly, the woman demanded that the manager give her a pizza that would make her have the baby soon. Seeing her desperation, the manager concocted a pizza with just about every known topping in the restaurant.

The masterpiece had thirteen different toppings including extra onions and extra garlic. The pizza was loaded with fresh vegetables and six types of meat. The creation weighed over four pounds and could have cured the hunger of several small countries. The results were amazing. The woman left the restaurant after eating the "Prego" pizza and went into labor that same evening. So began the amazing history of the first ever, the original, "Prego" pizza.

After years of success, the "Prego" pizza has been growing in popularity. It has been recommended by doctors and OBGYN's everywhere. The pizza gives hope to pregnant mothers who are just ready to put a happy ending to a long nine months. The "Prego" pizza has been recognized by newspaper, magazine, radio, and television programming alike. In the early years, radio personality Dr. Don Rose first helped publicize the pizza on the radio station KFRC. The successes of the "Prego" pizza have been documented in the Contra Costa Times, Pizza Today magazine, Diablo Magazine, Gourmet Magazine, and many other local publications. The popularity of the "Prego" has also been enhanced by short clips aired on KTVU channel 2, Evening Magazine, CNN, and KPIX, channel 5 news.

WOW! seriously? Mental note - if i go past my due date visit Skipolini's pizza, pronto. Check out their success stories

The rabbit is dead

I have taken the test and depending on how you see it, i either failed it or passed it.

Yep guys, I am preggo, preggers, knocked up, with child and so on and so forth. Cw has successfully inseminated me and his little fuckers can most certainly swim as well as having a particular one penetrate my stubborn egg.

I am 5 weeks and 1 day to be exact. I have my first prenatal doctors appt. on January 20th. Which also happens to be when my Dad flys in and visits us. I am choosing not to tell him until the 31st when we kind of sort of have a mini family reunion because a cousin from the motherland is coming to the states for the first time. anyway, we’ve all told you, and im glad I can share that with you. I wanted to wait until after the first trimester, which is when you are in the clear for miscarriages or something, but I couldn’t wait. You know me, hard to keep a secret like that!!

So hopefully you all can follow along with us and we’ll try and post pictures and keep our family (that’s you guys) updated with the doctor visits and the belly bulge.

I got a whole bunch of (crap) books yesterday. And if I wasn’t so exhausted, Id fucking write a better pregnancy book, or at least the start of one. Most if not all are trying to be funny (which is why I bought them) but they do so by being lame and really unfunny? If that makes sense. Half of the information is scary. The other half is horrific, while a select few are a nice side effect (like pregnancy orgasms? Yeah, its for real- well, I haven’t tried yet).

anyways, i have minor cravings even though im only 5 weeks along but one things for sure, i am always exhausted.

if you are interested in what this week is doing to my body, check this out.
