Family Portraits

10:39 AM

I set up a tripod in our living room and asked my family to have a little fun, and this is what we came up with:

I think Jax and Charlie had the most fun. Jax really got into doing funny faces and pressing the remote. He also then tried to direct the shoot as well and would comment: oh, that was a good one! and turn your head this way, oh no, that's not good - and I want you to make a funny face, like this..

anyway, maybe I should have tethered it so that we could see if we all 4 were looking at the camera or have our eyes all open. There were A LOT of photos, some would be great of me and not so great of Charlie or vice versa or the kids would run out of the picture or...anyway, we had a lot of fun and Jax learned some of the buttons on my camera..not sure if that's a good thing or not.

After the photo session, I gave the boys a hair cut. I think I cut Jax's hair a little too short :(

Jax, just said as he watches me load this post up - let's take pictures!

What are you guys up to this weekend? I have a photo shoot today, so I'm packing and getting ready :)

52 Project

Sunday - 2 of 52

12:14 PM

"a portrait of my family, once a week, every week, in 2013."
Charlie: has been very supportive of my time and effort put into blogging, photographing and my other creative endeavors. As we speak, he's taking the kids out to the park so I can get to my past due assignments & projects. (Thank you)

Jax: when we were at Target the other day, he found this hello kitty "camera" and now uses it constantly. He even directs us to do things so he can take photos.

Raima: is growing right before our eyes. She finally said mama! She's added yah, hot and a couple of other words to her repertoire. Her favorite is trying to play with her brother, although Jax isn't too keen on this yet.

Yesterday, I was invited to my friend's really fun baby shower at a tea room in San Francisco! It was so cute to see moms with their daughters and even dads too. I really wanted to take some photos of the other patrons but, I chickened out (again). Photos will be up on my photography site, if you care to take a look.

Happy Sunday!

Cameo

Simple Saturdays - Simply Portraits

7:00 AM

Last week on our visit down to Southern California, we got to visit new parents M & the Sweet Lady and their new baby Jack. Isn't he a cutie pie? So tiny and yet so powerful ;) Oh how I love babies!

I want to try and take some portraits of the kiddos so I can make my own shadow image or cameo to use as gifts. I've seen some tutorials around the web but haven't really thought about it much until now. I really need to start my craft projects, but every time I have my furlough day, which is when I had hoped I could do stuff - something else seems to come up. Like last Friday, work actually asked me to come in - which I'm not complaining about (yep, really). And the week before that? I chose to sleep in, yeah so that happened. Anyway, next Friday we will be in Southern California again for my grandfather's memorial services, and it looks like I have been chosen to do the first reading (gulp), which I am honored to do. I just hope I don't cry too much or laugh uncontrollably - that would be awful considering, but that is my usual nervous tick - uncontrollable laughing fits.

Anyhoot, have a wonderful rest of your weekend, and I'll see you back here on Monday. I think I will use Sundays as my fun day & day off to spend with family and not have to worry about the blog.

What are your plans this weekend?
